KJVS is working with tribal, dalit, women, children and other vulnerable communities in focusing development concern and issues of interest like livelihoods, food security, malnutrition, gender inequality, public health and education.
KJVS is putting its sincere effort to organize the community, building their capacity to tackle the issues at their level, raising awareness on issues affecting their lives, enabling them to make concerted effort and liaison with local governments and concerned departments.
The organizations’ vision is to establish a progressive and peaceful society based on the value of equality, liberty and mutual help. The mission of KJVS is to empower and organize the downtrodden, women, tribal and poor segment of the society by making them capable of demanding their rights and include them in the main stream of developmental process.
At present the organization is working in two districts i.e. Shivpuri and Gwalior with the most deprived community of 20 villages and 20 slums areas in Gwalior city.
The organization is working on women violence, patriarchy, Child education & nutrition and livelihood programs in Shivpuri district. In Gwalior urban, we are working with 70 "Man Samvad Groups", where 20 Man Samvad groups (under mental health awareness program in 20 Basti of Gwalior city) and 50 Man Samvad groups (under mental health awareness program in 50 schools(Both Private and government))
The organization also provides free counseling for mental health related problems, for which the organization has also issued a helpline number. Launched on World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September 2020 which is still operational.
